Fall Time Outdoor Fitness

Fall is probably one of my favorite seasons! The crisp cool air in the morning, the leaves changing colors.. it doesn’t get much better than that.

What I like to do in the fall, is get up with the sun, get out in nature with my ax and sledge hammer and split some firewood for the winter. Henry Ford put it well when he said “chop your own wood and it will warm you twice.” He knew the value of exercise and how essential it is when weathering the many storms and adversity life can throw your way. In his case, he was building Ford Motor Company – So if exercise and fitness worked for the him, it can work for all of us!

Manual labor builds character, discipline, endurance, and self-reliance. It may seem simple, but the simple things in life are sometimes the most profound and life changing. The morning sun through the trees, a deep breath of cool fall air, the beauty of nature…
