Kevin Completes His 20th Marathon — And Sets His Sights on an Even Bigger Goal
At Kev’s Gym, we often talk about the power of consistency, discipline, and showing up day after day. Those values are at the core of everything we do for the seniors and communities we serve across the country.
Recently, Kev’s Gym founder Kevin Barbera reached a major personal milestone — completing his 20th marathon.
Running a marathon is never easy. Covering 26.2 miles requires months of preparation, mental resilience, and the willingness to push through discomfort. Reaching 20 marathons represents thousands of training miles, early mornings, long runs, and the determination to keep going even when the finish line feels far away.
But for Kevin, this milestone is just part of a bigger journey.
At 37 years old, Kevin has set a bold new goal: to run his age in marathons — 38 total marathons.
That means 18 more marathons still ahead.
Why take on such an ambitious challenge? Because Kevin believes that goals should stretch us. They should require discipline, persistence, and the willingness to embrace the process.
The same philosophy applies to the mission of Kev’s Gym.
Every day, our instructors work with older adults across the country helping them stay active, mobile, and engaged through safe and accessible fitness programs like chair yoga, seated exercise, tai chi, and dance fitness. Movement doesn’t just strengthen the body — it improves confidence, independence, and quality of life.
Kevin’s marathon journey reflects the same message we share with our communities:
It’s never too late to move. It’s never too late to challenge yourself. And progress happens one step at a time.
From marathon number 1 to marathon number 20 — and now toward marathon number 37 — the journey continues.
And just like in fitness, the key is simple:
Show up. Stay consistent. Keep moving forward.
We’re excited to see where the next miles take him. 🏃♂️💪
