๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Memorial Day Tribute: The Murph ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

“A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself.” โ€“ Joseph Campbell

Today, we honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. One way the CrossFit community remembers and pays tribute is through the Murph workout โ€” a grueling challenge named after Navy Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, who was killed in action in Afghanistan in 2005.

The Murph:

  • 1 mile run
  • 100 pull-ups
  • 200 push-ups
  • 300 air squats
  • 1 mile run
(All done while wearing a 20 lb vest or body armor if possible)

Murph did this workout regularly and called it “Body Armor.” Now, itโ€™s a Memorial Day tradition โ€” not just a workout, but a way to suffer with purpose and remember those who gave everything.

We donโ€™t do Murph for time โ€” we do it for meaning. For gratitude. For remembrance. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
