Laura McCormack

Laura McCormack

Originally from the East Coast, it was during her time living in Washington State that Laura truly began to understand just how vital yoga is to her overall wellbeing, both physical and mental. In hopes of sharing the rejuvenating practice so central in her life, Laura completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training after a 1-month immersive program held in Uvita, Costa Rica. Now back in New York City, Laura is working full-time as a yoga instructor, serving a variety of communities all with their own specific yoga goals. Whoever she is teaching, Laura says her goal for her students is to foster a strong mind-body connection and to leave the practice feeling both relaxed and inspired.

Laura believes that so much of finding lasting happiness in life is about discovering what really matters to you and then having the courage to act on that aspiration. A consistent yoga practice provides the space in which to explore the depths of your mind, while simultaneously strengthening your physical body and eliminating somatic ailments, thus empowering you to make bold choices completely of your own volition. The time spent on the mat together is a blessing, but it is the strength and goodheartedness that you carry into the rest of your day that has the power to change lives for the better.

When not teaching or taking a yoga class Laura likes to take long walks around the city, window shopping and maybe, hopefully, stopping for a healthy(ish) treat along the way. She also enjoys visiting the many museums, hanging out in local coffee shops and seeing a comedy show whenever possible.

Laura joined the Kev’s Gym team in July 2021 and serves our clients in New York, NY. Want to book an appointment with Laura? Click here!
