At Kevβs Gym, we specialize in safe, engaging, and accessible fitness programs designed specifically for senior living communities.
Your audition video allows us to evaluate whether your instructional style, professionalism, and class structure align with the high standards we uphold for the residents we serve.
Our goal is alignment β not perfection.
Below are the standards every audition video must meet.
1οΈβ£ Class Delivery & Instructional Clarity π£οΈ
Your instruction must be clear, safe, and easy for older adults to follow.
We evaluate:
β Clear verbal cueing that explains what to do and how to do it safely
β Consistent demonstration of movements (not just verbal instruction)
β Simple, direct language appropriate for seniors
β Visible modeling that residents can mirror
Movements should be demonstrated in a way that would be easy for seated or low-mobility residents to follow.
Videos may not move forward if:
β οΈ Movements are not clearly demonstrated
β οΈ Instruction is rushed or difficult to understand
β οΈ Cueing lacks safety guidance
β οΈ Combinations are overly complex for seniors
2οΈβ£ Class Structure & Flow π
Kevβs Gym classes follow an intentional, structured format.
Your audition should include:
β A welcoming introduction
β A safe warm-up
β Structured sequencing with smooth transitions
β A clear cool-down or closing
The session should feel organized and purposeful β not improvised.
Areas that often require improvement:
β οΈ Limited flow between exercises
β οΈ Abrupt transitions
β οΈ Disorganized sequencing
β οΈ No clear beginning or ending
3οΈβ£ Energy, Pacing & Coaching Presence π
Our instructors create warm, encouraging, resident-focused environments.
We look for:
β A friendly, confident, and supportive tone
β Pacing appropriate for older adults (never rushed)
β Positive reinforcement and engagement
β Calm but energetic presence
Kevβs Gym classes are not bootcamp-style or performance-driven.
They are supportive, accessible, and connection-based.
Auditions may not move forward if:
β οΈ Delivery feels flat or disengaged
β οΈ Pacing is too fast for seniors
β οΈ Tone does not align with a senior-focused environment
β οΈ Coaching presence lacks warmth or clarity
4οΈβ£ Alignment with Senior-Focused Formats π΅πͺ
Kevβs Gym specializes in:
β Seated chair-based fitness
β Low-impact standing formats
β Balance-supported instruction
β Accessible, joint-friendly movements
Your audition video must reflect programming suitable for older adults.
High-impact, floor-based, athletic, or non-modified programming does not align with the population we serve.
To better understand the instructional tone, pacing, and structure expected, please review our example videos:
β’ Seated Yoga π§
β’ Seated Tai Chi β―οΈ
β’ Seated Zumba/Dance π
β’ Seated Exercise πͺ
These examples demonstrate the clarity of instruction, safe modifications, structured sequencing, and resident engagement required in all Kevβs Gym classes.
5οΈβ£ Video Quality & Professional Presentation π¬
We must be able to clearly see and hear you in order to properly evaluate your teaching ability.
Your audition video must include:
β Clear audio (no echo, distortion, or excessive background noise)
β Stable camera framing
β Proper lighting so movements are visible
β Full-body visibility during demonstrations
β Professional filming environment
If we cannot clearly assess your instruction, movement demonstration, and coaching presence, we are unable to move forward.
6οΈβ£ Professional Appearance & Hygiene Expectations π
Your audition should reflect the same professionalism required when teaching inside senior living communities.
Kevβs Gym partners with retirement communities, assisted living facilities, and healthcare environments. Your presentation must communicate professionalism, safety, and credibility.
Please ensure:
π Professional fitness attire appropriate for a senior environment
π« Clothing is not overly tight, cropped, low-cut, sheer, or revealing
π Footwear (if worn) is clean and appropriate for the format
π§Ό Clothing is clean, neat, and wrinkle-free
π Avoid heavy perfumes or excessive fragrance (many seniors are scent-sensitive)
π Hair is secured and styled safely for movement
We are not looking for perfection β we are looking for professionalism.
7οΈβ£ Submission & Link Requirements π
Your video must be:
β Submitted using a working link
β Publicly accessible (βAnyone with the link can viewβ)
β Clearly labeled
β Properly formatted
If your link is missing or inaccessible, we are unable to complete your review.
Please review our official submission instructions here:
